The creative arts scene is fittingly and fantastically represented with three renowned, home-grown, Queenscliff events; The Queenscliff Music Festival, the Low Light Festival and the Queenscliff Literary Festival. Local, national and international talent sweep to the shores of Queenscliff to wow audiences. Authors, painters, musicians, sculptures, film makers; there is a constant stream of artistic virtuosity flowing into Queenscliff with these annually programmed Events festivals.

Painter John Waller pays homage to his formative years in north-western Victoria, digging deep into the red dust and bleached sands of the antipodean landscape. Drawing on the unsentimental language of abstraction, he captures the beauty and terror of the desert and the plains, unearthing rich seams of luscious colour and glaze to reveal haunting narratives and the vastness of country.

Queenscliff was, for many years, one of Victoria’s most renowned seaside resorts, filled with Victorian-era architectural grandeur & a restorative climate, top & tailed by two still-standing lighthouses (High Light and Low Light). Since its renaissance some thirty odd years ago, Queenscliff has garnered a reputation for experiential excellence, a long-standing host to bespoke music events, art exhibitions & gourmet dining across its warmer months.
The Queenscliff Rod Run has been an annual event since 2004 and is held amongst the pine trees on Princess Park. The event stretches three days with a sausage sizzle and get together on the Friday night, a cruise on the Saturday followed by a magnificent show and shine on the Sunday.
Queenscliff Music Festival is instrumental in putting Queenscliff on the map nationally and increasingly, globally. As such, the Festival is nominated in the Borough of Queenscliffe’s strategic documents as being a vital plank in the Borough’s economic development.
Each year we are delighted to present a bumper program including panels, conversations, performance and a dinner celebrating the lives of celebrates artists and writers. There will also be workshops for writers and artists and a free kids’ program held in primary schools, day care and kindergartens in the Borough of Queenscliffe. And once again we are proud to award the QLF Secondary School Writing Prize for students on the Bellarine Peninsula.
